Qualities to Develop

In my religion class we read a quote that went a little like this...

“God is known only by revelation; he stands revealed or remains forever unknown. . . . Man’s purpose in life is to learn the nature and kind of being God is, and then, by conformity to his laws and ordinances, to progress to that high state of exaltation wherein man becomes perfect as the Father is perfect”

The qualities that God revealed to Joseph Smith are

Merciful (Compassionate; tender; unwilling to give or cause pain)
Gracious (kind, friendly)
Slow to anger
Generous
Unchangeable
No respecter of persons
Loving
A God of truth—he cannot lie
Long-suffering (patient, not easily provoked)
Forgiving

From knowing the qualities and characteristics that God posses and after reading the quote, I have made a new resolution to strive to look for ways that I can see these qualities in God as I go through life and feel his abounding love. By doing this I hope to grow closer to him and to be able to progress to be more like him.
