Please enjoy these pictures Chalet sent.  They did come with descriptions and information, but I just had a new baby and unfortunately don't have enough time to figure it all out.  I apologize.

Transfer 4 Week 4 - June 10, 2013

Howdy everyone,

Things this week have been pretty good. We had the opportunity to teach some interesting lessons. At our stake conference about two weeks ago where Elder Perry talked about how missionaries should be going into the members homes and teach them the first three lessons in a way so that they could teach their friends we really worked hard at doing that. We had the opportunity of doing it with some less-active and active members and it proved to be very successful. One of the less-actives that we are working with ended up afterwards posting on facebook that she has been reading from the BOM and feels a lot more happy. First of all that is awesome that she feels that way, but second it helps us with our purpose as we were trying to uplift and strengthen her, she was then able to do missionary work through facebook.
Then it was also interesting as we did it with some active members, and then had the opportunity to talk about PMG with them. A lot of them had never looked into PMG nor new what it was about. But it provided us a way to help them talk about having it more in their homes and lives as they study and live by it.

We also had the opportunity to hear from President Rasband just like Connor. It was really cool. He actually told us the same thing that Connor mentioned in his last letter in regards to President Monson that

1. He loves us
2. He is is praying for us and
3. Thank you

But it was such a blessing to hear from President Rasband. He talked about being down in Oklahoma and seeing the damage there, and even though bad things happen God is still very aware! He also did tell me personally mom that Connor is safe and protected cuz he asked if any of us had family there. So don't worry about bud he will be fine.

I also just really want to tell you how much God really does have people prepared. As we pray about specific people to see or streets to tract there is a way that the Lord will help us find someone if we are obedient! Last night we were tracting in this area trying to find a less-active and we found this super prepared man, Jamie James! He let us come right in and he talked to us about how he has been searching for some truth and hope and we shared the whole restoration lesson with him, gave him a  BOM and he told us he would study and pray about it and told us to come back anytime. It was a great experience and I know that I can have those little experiences everyday. Hope you all pray for experiences like that as well.

Whelp. That's all for now folks. Keep being awesome. Hope everything is going well.

Love,
Sister Beames

Transfer 4 Week 3 - June 3, 2013

Hey everyone!

Things are going pretty dandy here. (dandy is Chalet's sarcastic voice) But for Sister Beames everything is really great! Looking on the positive side we have seen a lot of miracles this last week. Had the opportunity to meet and talk to a lot of people and find some really good potentials. Some of our investigators are doing well and progressing (even though none of them came to church :( but i guess that's why there is always next week right?). They are starting to gain faith and see why things are important for themselves.

Last night I organized a fireside and had our mission president come talk in this little branch. It was really good. He talked about the BOM and the process of its translation and how important it is in helping us get nearer to God! I loved it. I know the BOM really has helped me so much.

Well hope everything is going well back home. Do something fun and share some religion with the world today.

Peace

Transfer 4 Week 2 - May 28, 2013

Memorial Day was yesterday so our mission pres. instructed us to switch our p-days and to use it as a day to find those that have lost loved ones. He told us to go to the cemeteries to go tracting, and my companion sister M. jokingly says that we were going there to talk to the ghosts. Which is precisely what would have happened because in reality this is a tourist town and nobody was at the cemetery  Everyone was at the beach for the holiday! So we decided to tract the houses around the cemetery  We ended up singing some hymns for people on their doorsteps as a way to get into trying to share a message and then we also went to people in the ward that we knew had lost loved ones in the past year or two. We actually had some good success in a trailer park. This specific location was where the young man had been living that was killed when I got here at the beginning of my mission. One of the people that we talked to said they went to his funeral and were actually looking for a church and said that they had felt really comfortable when they had attended there for the service. After sharing a brief message to them about the plan of salvation they told us that we could come back anytime. It will be exciting to see where that goes!

Obedience!

This was the goal of this week for me and my companion. We haven't really been doing anything that is disobedient, but we wanted to make this a focus to try and do more and see more accomplished. We set this goal about half way through the week when we felt like we weren't having very much progress or success because we had been doing a lot of service or helping people move and we hadn't had hardly any lessons.  We just felt like we weren't having as much success in areas as we wanted, But after really trying to focus on the goal for the last few days I could really see a difference and we learned a lot from doing it. We were able to see so many more blessing from the Lord and watch as He played a part in helping us find and talk to people.

Some of the miracles were we extended a baptismal invitation to our investigator Eldaa and she said yes. She said she has already felt the difference in her life as she has started to read the BOM. And one day when she felt like she didn't want to do anything, she recognized that satan was getting her down and making her procrastinate. She said she realized that she can't procrastinate and she needs to change cuz this is the only way to be happy.

Then we went to find a potential, William, who we had met outside a counseling center one day while tracting a street in our town.

When we went to his house his step mom came out and we started talking to her about how we had met him and shared a BOM with him. We told her how we know it would really bring a lot of peace into his life and help him find direction. She then proceeded to tell us that that was exactly what he needed! Apparently about a year ago there were two girls killed walking down bayshore rd here in Cape May and one of them was his sister and the other was his cousin. I have heard the story of the two girls the whole time being here and to be careful while walking the streets but I never thought I would meet one of the family members! The lady then proceeded to tell us that William had also lost his real mom a little over a year ago. With tears in my eyes I could hardly believe all the things that this young man was going through in his life but I reassured her that we did have a message that would help and make a difference. She then called for him to come to the door and we ended up having a good talk with him. He said he had started to look through the book, so we gave him a "question of the soul" pass along card so that he could start finding answers on his own about some of his questions and then set up a time for a return appointment  Man, I know how much he needs this. I know that the Lord put us in his path for a reason.

Finally, we had a really good lesson with Mike and Lisa Fales. We taught them the law of chastity and picked a baptismal date for Mike in August and then told them to pick a date for them to get married. Mike is really progressing. He just needs to keep receiving answers for himself. Together they decided to have a competition to see who could finish reading the BOM first. I'm just excited that they are finally reading. I know it will bless them. Mike gave a perfect example of how the Lord is already guiding him. Since he is working on keeping the Word of W, he had gone all week without coffee, but then on Saturday morning he was going to go to the store to buy some creamer so he could have some. He said he looked for his car keys for over an hour and could not find them. He took it as a sign that it must not have been that important anyways.

These were only a few examples of the amazing week but the Lord has really shown me when we are more diligent and obedient that he will bless us. That is really what we need to do to always strive to stay on the right path.

Firm, Undaunted, Obedient!
