Transfer 10 Week 3 - May 5, 2014

Beames Clan!

How the heck are ya? I love yous guys! Just thought I would give a Jersey hello!

Things here have been sooo good! Man I love it!

This week was super busy but we are getting so much accomplished. It was probably one of the most rewarding weeks of the mission. We were able to have five of our investigators with a baptismal dates at church this week. It just felt so good to see each of them come and to know that they all have a testimony and are looking forward to their baptisms and making a covenant with God.

Something that was super cool as well is when we extended 3 of those baptismal dates, one of the ladies that we are teaching, Evelyn, just said "I'm ready now!" and then when we had asked another individual after teaching the restoration he said that he felt so good and that he would be baptized. He said it almost felt like he was just baptized when we asked him because it felt so good!
Oh how I just love to be able to see the gospel bless so many people's lives.

Our investigator Shalise is also so awesome! I absolutely love her. On Sunday I bore my testimony and she said it made her want to get up and bear hers too. Which would have been awesome but they closed the meeting like one after me so there wasn't time. But she did end up bearing it in Relief Society. She absolutely is so great. She will be getting baptized on the 18th, even though she is so ready for this next week (except it is mothers day and too many things going on for the ward to do it)! So please keep her in your prayers. She is funny, and says some crazy things sometimes. For example, "you're like mary! you have got a baby Jesus roasting in your oven!" and "we gonna be sippin' and tippin'...sippin' holy water and tippin' noah's boat!"

She really has been quite a pleasure to teach and to see the 180 change that she has made in her life as she has come to know God. Another great child of God we have been working with is William. He too has been making so many positive changes in his life. He reads from the book of mormon every day and then calls each time we see him he follows up on what he learns to be proactive. Today he called us to tell us that he finished the first book of Nephi and really loved the last chapter. He said that he feels so good and that "it just cuts down to the nitty gritty, and so you know what you are supposed to do!" I don't think I could have received any wiser of a comment than that about the Book of Mormon.

Well I love you all! I hope that things are going well and that each of you are drawing closer to Christ as you read from the Book of Mormon. Just how they were able to be with Him and personally know Him when He walked with them in Jerusalem, and when He appeared to them in the Americas and allowed them to come forward and to feel the prints of the nails in His feet and His hands, that same promise is for us that we can personally know Him! He loves us and wants us to come unto Him. As we read and study we can know him and what He did for us!

1 Nephi 15:24 And I said unto them that it was the word of God; and whoso would hearken unto the word of God, and would hold fast unto it, they would never perish; neither could the temptations and the fiery darts of the adversary overpower them unto blindness, to lead them away to destruction.

That is one of the scriptures I read this week with an investigator so I thought I would share it with you. Continue to let the scripture fill your lives. I love you all and know this work is true. It is powerful and I hope each of you are taking part in it!

I look forward to hearing from each of you this week! Happy Mothers Day to all you mom's and future moms! :)

Love Sister Beames
