Hey family! Hope things are going well. It was a pretty good week here.
I was able to participate in two exchanges. I feel like I learned so
much from both of these exchanges about becoming more Christlike and
looking for opportunities for growth. The first one was with Medford.
I went with sister bennett. It was a really great experience. She is
one of the most Christlike people ever. It was great being able to
talk about our mission experiences and things that we have been able
to learn. Later that week I was able to go on an exchange down to cape
may! That was bitter sweet. While I was there it felt like it will be
my last time for a while. They made a lot of changes to the branch
presidency and there have been some people that have passed away which
was sad to hear! But I was really nice to be able to reflect and think
of when I first began my mission there. I recognize so many changes.
It was such a humbling experience to be in a place that I feel really
built me and shaped me. Some members from the branch also came up to
Vineland this weekend too to take us out to dinner. That was a real
treat!
This week was also zone training. I love those meetings because it is
always so great to learn from the missionaries around me. I love
seeing the amazing qualities of everyone and to hear their testimonies
of why they are out here. We trained on companionship unity, obedience
and finding opportunities. The mission seriously is so great. In our
ward there was a farewell and one of the girls that we have gotten to
know pretty well was heading out on a mission to California. It was
really touching to share our advice with her, and to reflect on my own
decisions to serve and advice that was given to me.
This week with teaching our two investigators John and Liz were
dropped from their baptismal dates. It was one of the saddest things
ever! They were supposed to be getting baptized in about a week, but
their dad who isn't a member didn't give them approval. John told us
that him and Liz fasted for three days! He said he woke up one morning
and he just felt so happy that he knew this church is true! I wish
everyone could feel that same way to have such confirming feelings
about the church even when they are told they can't join. They are
such great influences to me in enduring faith! Please keep them in
your prayers that their families hearts will be softened.
Well that's about it for now. Living life and loving it! Hope that you
all keep having a blast, and enjoy the the rest of your summer!
Love Sister Beames
